GRETZKY VS. JORDAN: THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL-TIME

I am a huge Jordan fan. Watching him on the court was one of the most exhilirating experiences of my life. Still when I stack him up against Wayne Gretzky I think that he falls short. While both athletes dominated their respective sports, Gretzky was at a level high above everyone of his competitors. His stats, honors, championships, and character are at a level that cannot be touched by Jordan. When it comes to this comparison it is the Great One by a mile. |

There has been a lot of hype over the so called great one, however no one can touch Jordan. To begin, gretzky was an amazing athlete, however his level was so far above the competition it is not really fair to say that he is greater than jordan. It was like watching him skate around cones. Jordan on the other hand played in the NBA at its prime, against some of the greatest ball players of all time, and he beat them up and down the court. Furthermore, when we take into account the total package Jordan wins again. He was not only a great offensive tool but won defensive player of the year in 98 and was 9 time all-defense team award recipient. The great one on the other hand didnt really play any defense. Jordan all the way! |
