I have been friends with this girl for about 7 years, and we're very close, but I'm just really not understanding why she can't just grow up about certain things. I'm honestly so tired of it. Today she called me up and said that I would have to make a 20 minute drive to sit with her in a waiting room bc she didn't feel good. I told her no, I didn't have gas to waste and I needed to be able to get to work. To make things simple, I'M BROKE. I'm picking up extra shifts in a DIFFERENT STATE just to get a little extra money. granted, it's only about an hour commute one way, but I'm doing it for 2 days, therefore it's a 4 hour commute total. She basically said I care more about gas than her, and that's not it at all. If she were seriously sick I would go in a heartbeat, but she's not, and I really can't be wasting my gas for things that are pointless. I get nothing out of going to sit with her other than sitting there and waiting with her. She's the kind of person who can dish it out, but can't take it, and I'm not gonna give in bc she's mad. No, I don't care more about gas than her, but at the moment, I do care a hell of a lot more about getting some extra cash in my pocket. Times are tough and I need all the help I can get, and making a 40 minute trip altogether does not help me, it just wastes my time, hard earned money, and gas. Can someone please give me their opinion on this?? Btw, this is not the first time she's acted like this over things that are completely stupid. |

you're right, she should understand that you can't just go out wasting time money and gas on whim because she doesn't feel good. if its nothing serious she should know not to make you feel that way. plus if you're not making the extra money then you won't even have a phone for her to call you on

I have a "dish it out but cant take it" friend, gosh theyre so annoying. But ya ur right she does need to grow up like wtf ur not her mom or dad.
