Professional athletes get paid millions of dollars to entertain the population why not let them reach the top of their game by pumping themselves full of all kinds of performance enhancing drugs, if nothing else this will mean a better show for the rest of us to watch. There are so many other reason why we should not care if professional athletes take steroids, here are few. 1) There is no way to stop it since the masterminds who make the goods are always one step ahead of the testing and find ways around the tests. There are new steroids dream up everyday. 2) Enforcement is impossible and leads to arbitrary testing and scapegoats made while plenty of guilty parties go unpunished. 3) Lets make a level playing field, since so many people already do it we are handicapping those who buy into the "all natural" mentality which does not even come close to reality. 4) Performance enhancing drugs are no where near as dangerous as we are so often led to believe. 5) Even if somehow a player gets a bad side effect, they have plenty of money to get it fixed (see Arnold Schwarzenegger who did more steroids then anyone else) 6) Children already have parents, let them steer the kids away from steroids, don't blame it on Mark McGuire if the child grows up to use. 7) who is the person to randomly pick and choose what can be taken and what cant? for example andro used to be ok but now its not. Is creatine next to go? 8) We shouldn't be telling adults how to do their job. ie. Athletes know what is going to make them perform the best and if steroids is the answer then let em do it. |

First of all steriods are as bad as experts make them out to be. Next, what kind of a message are we sending to those kids that look up to the pro athletes if we tell them that steriods are ok. If steriods somehow become socially acceptable and allowed in pro athletes when should kids be able to start taking them? Just as they run out to buy a Jeter jersey to look more like him, they will be itching to do steriods and be like their favorite pro. So image the door we are opening up if steroids are allowed. Obviously, this may be extreme saying that every kid would be taking steriods from an early age, but there will be a small percent whose parents (maybe those parents that think steriods aren't that bad i.e. Hollywood) will allow them to use them from an early age. I am rambling on too much, NO STERIODS FOR PROS ITS CHEATING!!!! |

Pro's are pros because they have used what god has given them as a gift and perfected it through practice, hardwork and making the most of their opportunities. Steroid users may have been given the gift of athletisism, but they loose the right to claim it when they use anything that unfairly prolongs the breakdown of the natural body.
