Embedded Videos
- To embed videos from sites such as YouTube
a. Click on the icon which corresponds with the site you will be embedding the video from (for example if you were embedding a video from YouTube.com then you would click on the YouTube icon)
- b. Follow the prompt that appears and input the requested information. The pictures below show how to embed a video from YouTube.com.
- i. The prompt will ask you to insert the URL for the video that you will be embedding. Go to the website and copy the URL from the top of the page then paste it into the prompt box. Alternatively, if you are on a site like YouTube you can copy the text from the URL box which they provide.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to copy the text from the URL box and NOT from the embed box.
- c. Click “OK” once you enter the URL. Notice that the URL will now appear in the field. After the close bracket (“]“) insert the text which you would like to have displayed under your video. For example, “Here is a video of…” or “This video shows…”
d. Click the “Save” button to embed the video or you can see what your submission will look like by first clicking on the “Preview” button.
- The process to embed files from other types of sites such as MP3’s mirrors the YouTube example.
